I'm officially addicted to ChatGPT. I use it for nearly all parts of my personal and professional workflow these days. But my favorite way that I've introduced AI into my workflow has been to help me apply for jobs, and prepare for interviews using AI.
This fall I've taught four different courses for college-aged students about how to introduce AI into their career discovery workflow, so I thought I'd share my tips with you, too.
Caveat: Yes, there are a lot of AI-powered job tools out there that help you create resumes and cover letters. But I've actually found that it's a lot more fun to do it yourself. (As an added perk, it helps you learn more about your own pitch, and the company you're applying for along the way.)
Just in case you're one of those people (like me) who hates making personal bios or resumes, here's a streamlined way of getting a v1 draft of your resume in just 10 minutes, with a little help from LinkedIn and ChatGPT.
